Dza Kilung Rinpoche, an esteemed Tibetan Buddhist lama who makes his western home on Whidbey Island, will speak on his book “The Relaxed Mind: A Seven Step Method for Deepening Meditation Practice.” Rinpoche was inspired to write this book when it became clear to him that his Western students responded to traditional meditation instructions differently from his students back in Asia. The Westerners didn't know how to relax -- our fast-paced lifestyles carried over into meditation. “The Relaxed Mind” contains instructions for the seven-phase meditation practice Kilung Rinpoche developed for students in the West. It's very traditional, yet adapted to counteract the overwhelming distraction that is becoming a global culture these days. His talk will allow time for questions and answers, followed by a book signing
